Hey everyone,
It’s been a very busy time and we are coming down to the conference itself. Wow what an exciting weekend is in store for SMILES Clowns. First our headliner is Norm Barnhart. Norm was Clown of the year for the World Clown Association in 2008. He is a bundle of exuberant energy and full of ideas and suggestions on making your clowning experience a better and/or more fulfilling one. He will be doing 2 lectures on Saturday; one on Thinking Theatrically and one on Improvisational Comedy. He’ll also do a show at the banquet and be available Friday afternoon for the Hands on Session.
Speaking of Friday try to get there as early as you can we will have a hands on time from 1:30 to 4:40 . This is for you. What ever you would like to know this is the one on one time to do it. Of course we will have a wonderful party that night. Our theme is Remember When so bring pictures and stories to share and enjoy the fun
The hospitality Room will open around 6 to 6:30am. You’ll be able to get a good start to the day. Then at 8:30 we will all assemble (place to be announced) for a group picture. We want all to be in make-up if possible. Even if you don’t wear make-up you’re still welcome; we plan to have a “plain clothes division.” This is in celebration of our 20 Anniversary of this Convention. Isn’t that something?
We have invited the deaf school in for an hour or so of entertainment. If you’re interested in helping out with that contact Don and we’ll put you to work. We would like to use this in a hands-on learning on entertaining the handicapped. During that time we will also be having 2 other lectures. All together we have 12 lectures on a wide variety of subjects. Leon McBride will have one on applying make-up to aging skin. (Something we are all facing but don’t want to admit) We’ll have face painting and putting on a party from Paula Biggio. Rick Fisher will be there with plenty of Magic. All these will have tables in the dealers room. Brian Gets will do balloons and concentrate on the basics and hats. Bibo will be with us on Friday night for the hands on time and I sure will be willing to help any one (Thank the good Lord his is able to come)
Also in the dealers room will be John Spears so you can get those good Clown shoes. Mary Barrett will be there with all the supplies every clown needs. And of course the newest feature of the dealers room the Rummage table. You’ll need to contact Clowns on Track to get information on that.
Then we’ll have the Banquet Saturday evening. Good food, Great entertainment and a time of remembrance and the Awards.
Then Sunday we’ll cap off everything with the Sunday morning Church service.
So you see it will be something you just don’t want to miss.
